ABOUT IANDS
The Organization's background:
Near-Death Experiences came to public attention in the 1970's with the pioneering work of psychiatrists Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, George Richie, and Raymond Moody Jr, Bruce Greyson. Social psychologist Kenneth Ring, and cardiologist Michael Sabom--typically worked in isolation.
International Association for Near-Death Studies was founded in 1978 to meet the needs of researchers. The Association was incorporated in 1981.The only organization in the world devoted to the study of near-death experiences. Technology may bring patients from the brink of death, but no one can yet explain everything that happenes in the process. Like every human experience, an NDE no doubt has a biological trigger, although at this time there is no consensus as to what the mechanism is or how it opereates.
Whatever the experience is, it is neither recent nor local. Something happens, and it changes lives!
Today, IANDS is recognized world wide and is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. To learn more, please visit www.iands.org
